Who are the coaches who work my child?
Our coaches are all expert, qualified coaches, many are former teachers. Each coach also has to have a current DBS certificate.
-
How does your coaching help my child?
We have developed, over the last 5 years, a unique approach which blends tutoring with coaching and uses a digital learning platform called The Quad. This combination provides the right balance for our young clients, who are at the beginning of their career journeys.
The tutoring element enables our coaches to work through new learning with young clients, which enables them to build their personal brand, create an elevator pitch and understand their value proposition, for example.
Coaching elements provide the opportunity for clients to engage in self-discovery and reflection, improved decision-making and goal setting. -
What skills will my child learn?
Whilst careers guidance is extremely valuable and provided by education institutions to enable young people to understand their career options, access labour market information and understand what careers their studies can lead to, there is no provision for the teaching and development of skills for life and careers.
These skills include career management, communication and language, leadership and social influence, and learning capabilities and strategies. -
Why are these skills important?
Governments and international bodies such as the World Economic Forum, the International Labour Organisation, the UN and UNICEF have recognised the importance of soft skills, which are increasingly referred to as human skills, now that we are in the age of AI. Having developed enhanced human capability enables young career starters to demonstrate their ability to work alongside technology effectively.
Our clients are able to evidence these skills through digital badges and skills certificates, achieved as they work with their coach. -
Do you do CV reviews and interview practice
Absolutely! We offer a detailed review service, which involves analysing a client’s CV and providing detailed feedback. The client then reworks the CV, and we read it again, offering some further guidance if needed. We do not write CVs for clients, but instead teach them how to ensure that their CV reads well for AI and human screening.
We also support clients to prepare for an interview; we often find that clients come to us for the first time when they have a significant career transition to navigate, or opportunity that they want to achieve. We can support with research, practical preparation, language and communication. We help clients to create a job acquisition strategy. -
Can I buy a subscription as a present?
You certainly can. Simply fill in the details of the individual you are buying for and we will contact them. If you want us to wait for a specific date, simply add that to the form and we will honour that request.

What makes your service better than others?
We have been told by our clients that our unique blended approach suits their needs at this starting point in their career journeys. They tell us that we really understand their concerns for the future and we have been able to change mindsets for the better and enable our clients to see their immediate and long-term future as filled with possibilities. We aim to build resilience through our skills teaching and coaching approach, and we find that parents ask us to work with younger siblings.
Our virtual provision is safe, convenient and effective; clients and coaches log onto their meeting and conduct their conversation. Clients also log into The Quad so that they can access the learning materials, and work through those with their coach, which consolidates and extends their knowledge acquisition and application. -
Why should I trust you with tutoring my child?
Our coaches are DBS checked and experienced at supporting young career starters. They are all qualified teachers, coaches and/or careers guidance practitioners. Furthermore, they have been handpicked by the Careers Collective Co-founders, who follow a safer hiring process. All sessions are recorded for safeguarding purposes.
As parents, you receive regular summary reports which outline the learning covered by your child and progress made. Your child will have numerous opportunities to complete learning review and evaluation activities and our coaches complete a digital report after every session so that we have a record that we can share with you.
Clients who are over the age of 18 can choose to have the report sent directly to them, rather than to their sponsor. -
In an AI world why does my child need human skills?
Although AI capabilities are evolving rapidly, there are skills that are unique to humans which are required in the current and future world of work, but these are not emphasised in education curricula. Governments have skills strategies, but these are taking time to implement. Meanwhile, transformation to a human + machine hybrid workplace is already occurring and employers are desperate to hire people who have developed the human skills required to play their part.

You talk about life long learning, what does this mean?
We know that lives and careers are lengthening, but that the current approach to career education focuses on the short term – the acquisition of a place at university or the first job. We also know that, in order to be resilient in life, people must have developed life-long learning capabilities, such as a curiosity mindset, a toolkit for healthy habits and self-assessment, all of which we teach as part of our blended model.
